The ambulance service in the Town of Walworth was origially ran by the Walworth Fire Dept. as a sub-committee for many years. In 2008, members of the fire dept. started Walworth Ambulance, Inc. and the Walworth Fire Department Ambulance Service disbanded, transferring their DOH Certificate to the newly formed not-for-profit corporation.
Our "new" organization provides emergency medical care and transport to the residents of Walworth, West Walworth, and Lincoln Fire Districts. We currently use two modular ambulances (AM-17 and AM-60), and an advanced-life-support first response vehicle (Medic-25). Our trained volunteers respond to medical emergencies in our coverage area day and night, twenty-four hours a day. We generally transport patients from our community to Rochester General, Strong, Highland, Clifton Springs, FF Thompson, and Newark-Wayne Hospitals.
